Past Continuous Tense

Past Continuous Tense का प्रयोग अतीत में हो रहे किसी कार्य के बारे में बताने के लिए किया जाता है.

उदाहरण के लिए यदि कोई आपसे पूछे की कल आप क्या कर रहे थे, तब आप Past Continuous Tense का प्रयोग करके उत्तर देंगे.

इसमें क्रिया के होने के वक़्त का वर्णन करना अनिवार्य नहीं है.

सकारात्मक वाक्य बनाना

Subject (करने वाला) Was / were क्रिया + ing शेष वाक्य Hindi Meaning(हिन्दी अर्थ) 

I was playing football मैं फुटबॉल खेल रहा था. 

She was playing football वह फुटबॉल खेल रही थी.

 He was playing football वह फुटबॉल खेल रहा था. 

You were playing football तुम फुटबॉल खेल रहे थे. 

They were playing football वे फुटबॉल खेल रहे थे. 

We were playing football हम फुटबॉल खेल रहे थे.

नकारात्मक वाक्य बनाना

Subject (करने वाला) Was not / were not क्रिया + ing शेष वाक्य Hindi Meaning(हिन्दी अर्थ) 

I was not playing football मैं फुटबॉल नहीं खेल रहा था. 

She was not playing football वह फुटबॉल नहीं खेल रही थी. 

He was not playing football वह फुटबॉल नहीं खेल रहा था. 

You were not playing football तुम फुटबॉल नहीं खेल रहे थे. 

They were not playing football वे फुटबॉल नहीं खेल रहे थे. 

We were not playing football हम फुटबॉल नहीं खेल रहे थे.

 It was raining yesterday. कल बारिश हो रही थी.

They were going to the temple. वे मंदिर जा रहे थे.

We were waiting for Meeta. हम मीता के लिए इंतज़ार कर रहे थे. 

We were not waiting for Meeta. हम मीता के लिए इंतज़ार नहीं कर रहे थे. 

You were playing in the park. तुम पार्क में खेल रहे थे. 

You were not playing in the park. तुम पार्क में नहीं खेल रहे थे.
