In this lesson, we will learn how to

  • Compare two people or things

Comparative form is used to compare two people or things on a quality

Mohan is taller than Ramesh.

Sachin is a better batsman than Ricky

This is sweeter than that.

We add ‘er’ to many adjectives to make comparisons

Tall Taller Short Shorter Cold Colder Big Bigger Small Smaller

Let us look at some examples

Mohan is taller than Manoj.

Manoj is shorter than Mohan.

Shimla is colder than Bangalore.

Mohit’s house is bigger than my house.

My house is smaller than Mohit’s house.

We usually add ‘more’ to longer adjectives to make comparisons
