Simple Past tense లేదా Past continuous tense లని ప్రయోగించడం	Using Simple past tense and Present continuous tense.
హలో రియా, ఎలా ఉన్నావు ?	Hello Riya, how are you?
హలో అనుజ్, నేను బాగున్నాను.	Hello Anuj, I am fine.
నువ్వు నిన్న ఎక్కడ ఉన్నావు ?	Where were you yesterday?
నేను నిన్న ఫ్రెండ్ ఇంట్లో ఉన్నాను.	I was at a friend’s house.
నిన్న నేను మీ ఇంటికి కాల్ చేసాను.	I called up your house yesterday.
నువ్వు కాల్ చేసినప్పుడు నేను దారిలో ఉన్నాను.	I was on the way when you were calling me.
నువ్వు నన్ను మొబైల్లో ఎందుకు కాల్ చేయలేదు ?	Why didn’t you call me on my mobile?
నేను నీ మొబైల్ నెంబర్ మరిచిపోయాను.	I forgot your mobile number.
మీ ఫ్రెండ్ ఇంటిలో ఏం చేస్తూ ఉన్నావు ?	What were you doing at your friend’s house?
మేమిద్దరం కలిసి 'హ్యారీ పాటర్' మూవీ చూస్తూ ఉన్నాం.	We were watching the new ‘Harry Potter’ movie together.
మేము గార్డెన్ క్రికెట్ కూడా ఆడాం.	We also played cricket in his garden.
నువ్వు మూవీనీ మరియు క్రికెట్ నీ ఎంజాయ్ చేసావా ?	Did you enjoy the movie and the cricket?
మూవీ చాలా బాగా ఉన్నింది.	The movie was very good.
కానీ నేను క్రికెట్ ఆడటాన్ని ఎంజాయ్ చేయలేదు.	But I didn’t enjoy playing cricket.
ఎందుకు ?	Why?
మేము ఆడుతున్నప్పుడు వర్షం పడ్డం మొదలైంది.	It started to rain when we were playing.
సరే. కానీ నీకు మూవీ నచ్చినందుకు నాకు సంతోషంగా ఉంది.	Ok. But I am happy that you liked the movie.
అవును, అది సిరీస్లో చివరి మూవీ కూడా.	Yes, it was also the last movie of this series.
నేను ఈ మూవీని గతవారం చూసాను, అది నాకెంతగానో నచ్చింది.	I watched this movie last week and liked it a lot.
విషయాలను అర్థం చేసుకోవడం	UNDERSTANDING CONCEPTS
ఇంతకు ముందు సంబాషణలో మీరు Simple Past Tense మరియు Past Continuous Tense రెండిటిలోనూ వాక్యాలు చూసారు	In the previous conversation, you heard sentences from both the Simple Past Tense and Past Continuous Tense.
గతంలో సంభవించిన చర్యలను గురించి మాట్లాడటం కోసం Simple Past Tense ని వాడుతారు.	Simple Past Tense is used to talk about  those actions that happened in the past.
Past Continuous Tense గతంలో జరుగుతున్న సంఘటనల గురించి మాట్లాడటానికి ఉపయోగిస్తారు.	Past Continuous is used to talk about those actions that were in progress in the past.
మనం ఈ రెండు రూపాల్నీ (Past Continuous & Simple Past)ఒకే వాక్యంలో వాడినప్పుడు:	When we use these two forms in the same sentence, we use:
Past Continuous : గతంలో జరుగుతూ ఉన్న చర్యల గురించి మాట్లాడటం కోసం	Past Continuous:  to talk about actions that were in progress in the past.
మరియు	and
Simple Past : గతంలో ముగిసిపోయిన చర్యల గురించి మాట్లాడటం కోసం	Past Simple :    to talk about action that were completed in the past.
Simple Past Tense మరియు Past Continuous Tense ల మధ్య ఉన్న తేడా	Difference between  Simple Past & Past Continuous
గతంలో సంభవించిన చర్య	action that happened in the past
గతంలో జరుగుతూ ఉన్న చర్య	action that was in progress in the past
నేను ఫుట్ బాల్ ఆడాను.	I played football.
నేను ఫుట్ బాల్ ఆడుతూ ఉన్నాను.	I was playing football.
వర్షం మొదలయ్యే సరికి నేను ఫుట్ బాల్ ఆడుతూ ఉన్నాను.	I was playing football when it started to rain.
వాళ్ళు ఇంటికి వచ్చారు.	They came home.
వాళ్ళు ఇంటికి వస్తూ ఉన్నారు.	They were coming home.
నువ్వు ఇంటికి వచ్చే సరికి, నేను మూవీ చూస్తూ ఉన్నాను.	I was watching a movie when you came home.
అతను ఆమెను కలిసాడు.	He met her.
అతను ఆమెను కలుస్తూ ఉన్నాడు.	He was meeting her.
నువ్వు కాల్ చేసినప్పుడు నేను స్నానం చేస్తూ ఉన్నా.	I was taking shower when you called me.
నేను నిన్న వాచ్ కొన్నాను.	I bought a watch yesterday
ఆమె తన ఫ్రెండ్ ఇంటి వద్ద ఉంది.	She was at her friend's house.
ఆమె ఒక పద్యం చదువుతూ ఉన్నింది.	She was reading a poem.
నేను ఉత్తరం రాస్తూ ఉన్నిన్నాను.	I was writing a letter.
ఆమె నాకు ఇంగ్లీష్ మాట్లాడటం నేర్పించింది/ అతను నాకు ఇంగ్లీష్ మాట్లాడటం నేర్పించాడు	He/ she taught me to speak English.
నేను బిజీగా ఉన్నా.	I was busy.
నేను అక్కడ ఉన్నా.	I was there.
వాళ్ళు హోటల్లో ఉన్నారు.	They stayed in the hotel.
వాళ్ళు హోటల్లో ఉంటూ ఉన్నారు.	They were staying in the hotel.
వాళ్ళు పార్కులో ఆడుతూ ఉన్నారు.	They were playing in the park.
